MY REVIEW
When you first see the trailer of this movie, you get to know so little about the story.  It raises your curiosity and simply pulls you to get a DVD of this movie.  Believe me this movie will not disappoint you.   Although classified as a horror, I would call this movie one of the best thrillers of all time.

The story is about a child psychologist, Malcom Crowe.   The story begins with him and his wife returning home from a party, finding an armed man( who is Malcom's ex-patient) in their house threatening to kill him for failing him.  Next Autumn Crowe begins working with another patient Cole Sear who suffers from hallucinations.  The problem is similar to Malcom's ex-patient and this time he is determined to set thing right.
After gaining his trust Cole confides in him that he is able to see 'dead people'.   Whether the child is just delusional or does he actually has this curse/gift is the question whose answer Malcom has to find.  Besides this he also faces problems in his marriage due to his dedication to work.

The best thing about this movie is that for half the movie you keep on wondering whether Cole is delusional or not and for the rest of the movie you wonder how would Malcom solve his problem.  This movie is known for its surprise ending which shocked most of its viewers.  It is really difficult to anticipate the ending of the film.   The direction by Shyamalan is great. This is by far his best movie followed by Signs (2002).  Kudos to the writers for writing an excellent story and script.A lot of work has also been done on coming up with great dialogues.  "I see dead people" is one such dialogue which cant be forgotten.

As for the performances, it is nice to see the Die Hard star, Bruce Willis acting so beautifully in a non action film.   He looks serious, determined and at times sympathetic to the problems faced by his patients.   As for Haley Joel, I must say this child had great potential which could be seen in his movies that even included AI Artificial Intelligence but he seems to have disappeared somewhere.

This movie cant be missed out by anyone even if you are not a horror fan.   Definitely one of the top ten movies I have seen in my life.

MY RATING 9.5/10
