MY REVIEW
Welcome to the future. A future where the criminal is caught before he/she commits the crime. A future with Facial recognition billboards, with electronic paper that updates instantly, robotic insects for spying and many things which you could only dream about. This film set in 2054 is best known for being futuristic, for the inventions and for predicting the way of life we could lead in the future.

Captain John Anderton (Tom Cruise) is the chief of the Precrime police force. With the help of the three 'Precogs' the force is able to predict possible murderers before they could commit the crimes. This force is reponsible for making Washington murder free for the past 6 years. Now, with the force going nationwide, Dany Witwer (Colin Farrell) is called to audit the force. The real problem arises when the 'Precogs' predict that Anderton would a murder a man named Leo Crow. Now can Anderton prove his innocence or is the prediction right? This is all that the film deals with.

Steven Spielberg. The name says it all . He is the master of Sci-Fi films. We can never forget movies like E.T or Jurasic Park. Experimenting with something that is entirely new is tough and requires a lot of courage, but this guy is able to achieve success by such an expermentation again and again. The very concept of the film is exciting. The movie too does live up to the expectations. Most of us would be quite old by 2050. Seeing such inventions and the way of life in 2054 today is intriging and theis is the high point of this film.

As for the performances, the movie is all about Tom Cruise with Colin Farrell playing an important supporting role.  This type of role suits Tom Cruise.   Running around, hiding, fighting the bad guys is his thing.   He is apt for this role.   As for Colin Farrell, he plays the serious and honest detective who is determined to find the truth. His acting reflects this seriousness and this is good.

Watch this film for the being too ahead of its time, for the beautiful gadgets/inventions (Some of which are actually in production now) and the brilliant direction by Spielberg.

MY RATING 7.5/10
