MY REVIEW
Critical acclaim and a mammoth box office earnings of around $400 million, Why wouldn't you make a sequel ? No new story maybe.   The Hangover was undoubtedly the best R-rated comedy I have ever seen, but I was Hugely disapointed with Hangover Part II. The prime reason is the same story as the first one.

       The Star Monkey

If you have seen The Hangover, you probably know the story.   Set in Bangkok this time, the 'Wolf-pack' assemble for Stu's wedding.   To celebrate the wedding, they invite Stu's soon to be wife Lauren's brother Teddy along much to the dismay of Alan.  As expected they wake up the next day with no memory of the night before and with Teddy missing.  Now they must re-trace their steps inorder to get Teddy back before the wedding.

They are 2 main differences in the story.   First it is set in Bangkok which seems ideal for such kind of movie.   I think chosing Bangkok as the location was a wise decision.   The 2nd change is the introduction of monkey instead of the Baby.   The monkey is extremely funny in this movie.   The very idea of a monkey drug dealer is hilarious.   As seen Change is always good, but I dont know whatever the reason might be the makers didnt make enough changes for my liking.   I am not saying this movie is bad, in fact it is extremely funny but the problem is the sense of Deja-vu you get if you have seen the first one.

The Wolf-Pack

The time might be the reason.   Fresh from the success of The Hangover, the makers wanted to profit more and that too quickly.   That explains the sequel just 2 years after the First one. I wanted to watch the sequel, but I could have waited alonger time if I got a movie of the standards of the First one.

As for the performances Although Alan (Zach Galfiani) is extremely funny, for me Stu (Ed helms) steals the show. This guy is sane yet mad. After getting drugged, he seems to be the wildest one.   As he says in the movie 'There is a devil inside me' and like Alan is he adds 'who has semen inside it'.    Bradley Cooper as Phil is also good. These 3 compliment each other really well.   This might be the reason why the makers might have decided against disappearing anyone from these three.   Ken Jeong as Chow returns for a bigger and a better role. Mike Tyson has another cameo.   I mean atleast get a new Cameo. Not anything against Tyson.   I quite like his song but as I said Change is good sometimes.

This movie earned more than the First one.   Now there are plans for a third one.   I hope they make a better one than this.   Still watch it for the funny scenes, its a one time watch.

MY RATING 7/10
